Wonderful Owl Update~Kristen Sullivan Mantovani

Here is the exciting email I got from Kristen!!!

Hi Ladies! I love reading all of your updates so I'd thought I'd throw my current life story into the mix: Clay and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary in October, and have been living in Delaware since 2004. We adore our 3 year old boxer, Lola, who is spoiled rotten. A little over two years ago we decided that we wanted to expand our family with babies of the human variety as well, and had no idea what a roller coaster of a journey it would turn into. I am excited to share the news now though, that I am 6 weeks pregnant and so far the tests show that we're healthy and it's going well! As if that wasn't enough, my nephew, Scott Michael Sullivan was born yesterday 12/28/07! Scotty is 7lbs 15oz (three weeks early) and cute as a button. He joins his big sister Kimberly, who will turn 11 next week. (My brother and I are 13 years apart, so it appears he's following the same pattern with his kids.) Mommy & baby are doing great and should get to go home New Year's Eve. I hope you all had a wonderful 2007 and best wishes for 2008- Happy New Year! ~

Job seeking

Posted for Angie Green '00:

Angie has a friend she is trying to help find a public accounting job—and quick. Does anyone know of any openings at their office, or someone she may refer her friend to? As Ang says, "This chick rocks the house and needs some hooter help. Any hooters out there you know of that can help a math whiz like her?"

If you know of anything, e-mail Angie right away: agreen8000@yahoo.com

From our sweet Tricia...

Hi Ladies,

I am writing to say thanks. It has become clear to me over the past year what the true meaning of "love" is... that it is selfless and without expectation. And that's what the ladies of Sigma Alpha Tau have offered me in recent months. The cards and thoughtful words have been a launch pad to lift me up when there were/are moments of sadness. The presence at Duncan's visitation brought to life how the OWLS community is alive and extremely supportive. In practical ways, I have been gifted with a huge freezer, a clean-cut lawn (as a result of "Project Rake the Arthur's Leaves!"), and several restaurant gift cards to get past the nights my little butt doesn't have the energy to ponder dinner. And, not to mention, the individual acts of compassion the nice little mail man conitnued to surprised me by: Cheryl cookies, fruit baskets, and more.

Honestly, it feels overwhelming. But, as I stated in this year's Christmas letter, I have learned the difficult lesson of letting go of the burden of knowing I will never be able to repay your love. So, please know that I fully appreciate all the care you've physically provided me, all the care you've emotionally provided me, and all the care you've spiritually provided me (I know the prayers have been abundant).

In deep graitude,
Tricia and the Arthur Family

Owl Update~Shauna Huff Piatt

Here is an update from Shauna. Here are some photos of her wedding, first of Shauna and Art and of course the hooter sister shot! I am not sure a wedding would be complete without one~! Doesn't she look beautiful!?! Also included is a photo of her baby Dozer!

From Shauna:

I teach at Jonathan Alder High School - this is my 6th year. I teach FRESHMEN - Yikes! I also have been the student council advisor and am currently the drama club advisor and the director of the play. I received my master's degree from OC last fall. My husband, Art, and I got married last summer and bought a house last fall. We have a son, Dozer, who is seriously our child more than our dog and gets treated as such. As far as procreation - some day. : ) I see lots of hooters but miss the ones I don't keep in touch with! Hope everyone is doing well!

From Emily Stout Fitzer

I got an email from Emily today and sent some beautiful photos of her and her sweet little man Quinlan. She wanted to update us on how she is doing, her words say it best.

Quinlan Michael Fitzer was born 10/23/2007 as most everyone knows. He is doing wonderful except for some unfortunate acid reflux which isn't making him too happy. I'm actually hanging in there and doing okay myself. Quinn is a blessing, he gives me a reason to get motivated everyday. He is so beautiful and I see his Daddy in him everytime I look at him. I'm still on maternity leave through Christmas. I love being home with my little guy and dread having to leave him when I go back to work. My Mom is going to watch him while I work which has been a load off my shoulders. I wanted to thank everyone for their wonderful notes, gifts, and prayers. I never could have gotten through this terrible time without all the support from my sisters. I hope to see everyone soon and thank you in person! Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
Love-n-Hoots,
Emily Stout-Fitzer

Update on Em :)

Em had her final part of her root canal yesterday (hopefully!!!!!) and is done with the surgery on her face. She did really good, although she had to be awake throughout because of being pregnant - YIKES!!! Everything looked good although they were not able to stitch up the incision which worries Em a bit since it is on her cheek, but I bet she will look as beautiful as ever :) Just wanted to let you know she is doing great and currently at home resting:) She wanted to say thank you for all the well wishes!!!

Will you be my babysitter?

Hi ladies,

I'm looking for a good babysitter or childcare reference. My little guy, Noah, is six months old. While I have been lucky enough to bring him to work with me until this point, in January I am looking to find a sitter/day care center for him three days a week.

Do you know of any good sitters in the Sunbury or Westerville area I could contact? Or do you have a reasonable daycare center with which you've had a good experience?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

Love & Hoots,
